Unlock opportunities in South Korea’s booming offshore wind market

Join the Danish Business Delegation

The market is accelerating rapidly – and Danish frontrunners like Ørsted, Vestas and CIP are already on the ground. This delegation gives you direct access to key decision-makers, local developers, and crucial insights into the Korean offshore wind transition.

Together with The Trade Council in Seoul, we are planning this Danish business delegation to Seoul & the BIXPO 2025 trade fair in Gwangju.

We are continuing the success from the two events in 2024, where we were joined by Blue Water Shipping, CIP, COWI, DHI, DNV, EIFO, ENABL, Fairwind, FORCE Technology, Hawe Energy Solutions, Hempel, ISC Consulting Engineers, Jumbo Consulting, Lautec, Liftra, Maersk Project Logistics, Peak Wind, Poul Schmith/Kammeradvokaten, Rambøll, Seasight Davits, Shoreline, Stiesdal Offshore, Vestas, Windpal, and Ørsted

Preliminary program

Day 1: Meetings in Seoul at ambassador’s residence

  • External speaker on Korea’s offshore wind market overview
  • Meetings with international and local developers and OEMs in the likes of CIP, Hanwha, Siemens Gamesa, Vestas (APAC), Ørsted, kredo, Pacifico, and manufacturer CS Wind
  • We hope to have a informal networking around lunch and short introductory presentations by the DK companies (1 slide)
  • Networking dinner
  • The location of the Ambassador's adds significant value when inviting key stakeholders for networking

Day 2: Meetings & roaming of BIXPO 2025 in Gwangju (same day travel)

  • Potentially meeting(s) with fabricator(s)
  • Free roam and own lunch at BIXPO 2025
  • KEPCO (Korea Electric Power Corporation) networking seminar. Potential networking dinner with KEPCO

Day 3: Meetings in Seoul at meeting room at our common hotel

  • 4 separate meetings with international and local developers and OEMs in the likes of CIP, Hanwha, Siemens Gamesa, Vestas (APAC), Ørsted, kredo, Pacifico
    • Full day; end of program at appr. 16.30 hrs

Investigate for yourself

  • A fast-emerging offshore wind nation: With support from the Danish Energy Agency, South Korea has dramatically streamlined its permitting process – moving from 20+ authorities to a one-stop-shop model. This means faster timelines, reduced risks, and a more investment-friendly environment.
  • Tenders are opening up: Korea’s current offshore wind tender includes 750 MW open to foreign developers, with more expected later in the year. The system is based on long-term PPAs and a fixed ceiling price, and Korean developers are actively seeking reliable international supply chain partners.
  • Danish companies are already leading the way:
    • Vestas has been selected as preferred turbine supplier for the 390 MW Shinan Ui project.
    • Ørsted has secured development rights for 1.6 GW near Incheon and has signed MoUs with KOSPO, KOMIPO, and POSCO Energy.
    • CIP is developing the 99 MW Jeonnam Offshore Wind project and an additional pipeline of up to 800 MW through its partnership with SK E&S.
  • Exclusive access at BIXPO 2025: Join us at BIXPO 2025, Korea’s premier energy innovation expo, where the delegation will hold dedicated meetings with KEPCO – the country’s national utility and a central player in its energy transition.

This delegation targets Danish subcontractors and service providers in the wind energy industry – from component suppliers and engineering firms to consultancies and project developers with interest or presence in Asia.
