The country has an offshore wind target of 10GW approved by 2030, where approximately 4.5GW of projects will have been auctioned off by July this year after round 3 auction results are announced. Round 2 auction results from December, 2023 showed early CODs (2028-29), strike prices at the minimum FIP and first international developers (RWE & Iberdrola) in winning consortiums. The market is now looking to round 3 auction results, which will be a main topic for Global Offshore Wind Summit Japan taking place 3-4 September. Finally, takeaways from the recent Floating Offshore Wind Technology Research Association visit to Denmark will also be presented.
