Why Türkiye, Why Now?
- Europe’s fastest growing market: Türkiye has rebounded in onshore wind with a 7% CAGR and 14.6 GW of new capacity forecasted by 2035. This represents one of the fastest-growing renewable energy markets in the region.
- Supportive Policy Environment: Revised feed-in tariffs and recent regulatory reforms (shortened permitting, oversubscribed auctions) create favourable conditions for foreign investors and technology providers.
- Regional Demand Drivers: Türkiye’s rising electricity consumption and targets to reduce coal dependency accelerate the demand for cost-efficient, renewable solutions.
- Well-established wind supply chain: Türkiye has implemented local content requirements throughout its Onshore Wind auctions which has led to a well-established domestic value chain that can be developed further with Danish expertise
- Offshore wind target: 5 GW offshore wind target till 2035
