The Spanish market: the numbers speak for themselves
Spain holds the 3rd largest biomethane potential in the EU, with an estimated need for 2,300 new biogas plants and EUR 40 billion in investments. Yet until recently, biogas production per capita was among the lowest in Europe – ten times less than Denmark.
That's changing fast. Driven by RePowerEU, the European Green Deal and national climate legislation, Spain's largest energy and waste groups – Enagás, Naturgy, Repsol, Redexis and others – are now developing hundreds of projects. The gas distribution network is in place: 11,000 km of transport pipelines, 84,000 km of distribution pipelines and six regasification plants. The infrastructure is ready. The political will is there. And the key regions – Castilla León, Andalucía, Castilla La Mancha, Aragón and Catalonia – together account for more than two thirds of the total national potential.
By end of 2025:
- 22 biomethane plants injecting gas into the grid – up 50% in one year
- 500+ grid connection applications submitted
- 100+ projects approaching ready-to-build stage

Salón del Gas Renovable: where the Spanish market meets
Organised by AVEBIOM, Salón del Gas Renovable is Spain's leading event for renewable gas. This is where major utilities and developers like Enagás, Naturgy and Repsol show up, alongside engineering firms, agrifood players and investment funds actively scouting for technologies and partners.
Alongside the exhibition, the International Bioenergy Conference takes place – and as an exhibitor at the Danish Pavilion, you can apply for a speaker slot and put your company directly on stage in front of the people who matter.

As part of The Pavilion – Powered by Denmark, you choose between two solutions:
Turnkey Booth – your own fully equipped stand, built and ready to go. We handle construction, flooring, lighting, furniture, cleaning, catering and registration. You focus on the visitors. We take care of everything else.
Poster Booth – a cost-effective presence for companies that want a dedicated base without a full stand. Your own space for meetings and conversations – and you'll be found by people you didn't know you needed to meet.
